CRF's Lake Norman Covekeepers are working with the Lincoln Natural Resources Committee, the Florence Soule Shanklin Memorial Garden volunteers, and local garden clubs to build a demonstration rain garden at the Florence Soule Shanklin Memorial Library. The first public workday on February 19 was a great success. The rain garden features were excavated, rock and other groundcover was installed, and the garden is ready for planting. Rain gardens reduce the negative impact of stormwater runoff and provide a great landscaping amenity. Watch this website for information about future workdays.
