Celebrate 25 Years of Advocacy for Our Waters!

On Saturday, February 25th, 2023, Catawba Riverkeeper will kick-off a year long celebration of our 25th anniversary with a gala at beautiful Camelot Meadows Event Center on the banks of Lake Wylie in Belmont, NC.

The evening will include a buffet dinner, open bar, silent and live auctions, a 25th Anniversary video celebrating the beauty of our river basin and the work of Catawba Riverkeeper to protect it, and remarks from some of the volunteers, leaders, and partners who have been instrumental in preserving, protecting, and restoring the waters of the Catawba-Wateree River basin for all over the years.

What do my donations support?

All donations to the 25th Anniversary Gala will go to ensure that Catawba Riverkeeper can continue to provide preservation, protection, and restoration to the Catawba-Wateree River Basin for another 25 years. Donors can choose to direct their funds to any of the following:

Dedicated Cash Reserve Fund - Like all businesses, sometimes we have emergencies arise and challenges come up. Our Cash Reserve fund is a liquid source of resources we can lean on when an unexpected repair pops up or when we need to take advantage of an opportunity to execute a project that was not budgeted.

Endowment Fund - The Rejoice Fund is our endowment that is held at the Gaston Community Foundation. The Rejoice Fund has a restricted principal that cannot be spent by the organization. The interest earned from the Rejoice Fund can be used for special projects and capital expenses with the approval of the board of directors. Donors may direct their funds to add to the untouchable prinicpal of the Rejoice Fund.

Wherever it is Needed Most - 2023 is sure to be one of the benchmark years for Catawba Riverkeeper. As we bring on new programs, add to our scientific staff, and expand our work throughout the basin, our funding needs grow alongside our work. Donors may choose to make a fully unrestricted gift that will invest in the work Catawba Riverkeeper is doing NOW.
