ELLIE RIGGS

As the Manager of Advocacy Communications, Ellie works to inspire members of the public to engage in Catawba Riverkeeper’s advocacy efforts. She collaborates closely with the Policy Manager on legislative strategies to ensure the future health of our river. 

Ellie graduated from Davidson College with a major in Environmental Studies and a minor in Economics. Her studies focused on environmental policy and fostered her interest in community engagement in conservation.  As this is her first job out of college, Ellie is grateful for the opportunity to advocate for the health and accessibility of local ecosystems. 

Originally from Northeast Florida, Ellie grew up with a love for the outdoors and is excited to incorporate her passion for nature into her career. In her free time, Ellie enjoys running, reading, and exploring the parks of North Carolina.
