The River Room Kayak Rentals

Experience the South Fork River! Enjoy a relaxing paddle and view beautiful wildlife on an excursion perfect for beginners and intermediates.

Rent a kayak, canoe or standup paddleboard for a 90-minute paddling experience on the South Fork River. You will launch from McAdenville Greenway Park and easily paddle upstream and then float back. 

Out-and-Back Kayaking Experience

Start at McAdenville Greenway Park in McAdenville, paddle upstream towards the rocky shoals near the dam, then float back down.

Dates and Times: 

OPENS MAY 11 - Walk-Up Rentals: Saturdays and Sundays 10 AM - 4 PM

*No Kayak rentals available the weekend of 8/31 - 9/1*

Where to Meet: 

The River Room (102 Main Street, Suite 100) in downtown McAdenville, NC

Cost: 

• $25 per kayak rental
• $20 per kayak rental for residents of Belmont, Cramerton, Lowell, or McAdenville 
• 10% discount for Catawba Riverkeeper members

Rental Cost Includes: 

• Single or tandem sit-on-top kayak
• Life Vest
• Paddle
• Basic water safety
• Basic paddling instruction on-land

Restrictions: 

• Must be 18 years of age to purchase tickets
• Must be 4 years of age to ride in a tandem kayak with an adult
• Must be 8 years of age to ride in a single kayak with an adult in another kayak
