Help Catawba Riverkeeper identify restoration cleanup locations

The vast destruction caused by Hurricane Helene has left communities devastated. Floodwaters, landslides, and fallen trees have scattered debris everywhere, and much of that trash and debris has washed into our shared waterways all throughout the region. Catawba Riverkeeper is working to assess areas impacted by the storm and create a comprehensive plan for restorative river and lake cleanups moving forward. While our staff is working to scout out areas in the Catawba River Basin heavily impacted by pollution and debris, we need your help to give us a broader view of where trash is accumulating along shorelines and in rivers and lakes. Pollution reports will help us gain a better understanding of where to focus our efforts and plan for our restorative cleanups.

For safety purposes, we do not recommend venturing out beyond your normal routes in search of pollution and debris. Please exercise caution when on boats, as lots of debris remains just under the surface of the water.

You can report issues you see in the form below or on the Catawba Riverkeeper App for Android or Apple. To report an issue to the Riverkeeper, you can also call 704-679-9494 and press "5".
